What is your most memorable experience in the US?

'My most memorable experience was immersing into the Navajo Culture. We were able to prepare mutton and cook Navajo food and we were amazed that there were similarities between Philippines and Navajo culture just like story telling, weaving, jewelry making and reverence to the land.

What is your favorite part about living in the US?

My favorite part of living in the US is the beautiful scenery everywhere that can be accessed by car and the American people are very friendly and helpful and learning their culture is a one of a kind experience.

What is the most challenging part about living in the US?

The most challenging part of being in the USA is adjusting to the administrators and students. I feel like I am starting again from the bottom like a student who is still soaring and working for success. Everyday is a new day to learn new things and I am grateful for that.

Tips for other J-1 teachers:

My tips for my fellow J-1 teachers is to be the best that they can be because we will not be here for long so let us prove that we deserve to be here and the future of aspiring J-1 teachers depends on us. If The US government sees our abilities and capacities, the more they will give opportunities for J-1 teachers to be here.'
